I'm writing Bush's 2007 resolution for him: Cut the crap and get everyone home. Saddam's execution doesn't make us feel better about Americans dying, too.
p.s. you might wanna download haloscan for comments.
I never respond to blogs as in general I think they are a waste of time, although I find yours usually enjoyable. But I have to say this blog you link to is ridiculous. First of all, she claims to be Iraqi and to say how terrible it is in her country. How bad can her personal situation be when she has time to run a website and clearly has internet access on a regular basis. I tend to think this was written by someone in the US who hates Bush. Now let me be clear here. I'm as liberal as they come, and I didn't vote for Bush. And I think his reasons for going to war were ridciulous. But for this person to criticize American troops who are trying to give her country freedom is offensive to me. No one is saying that the deaths of Iraqi citizens is any less horrific than the death of an American soldier. Was this woman's life better under the rule of a dictator who killed more of his own people than this war has? And it wasn't the United States who executed Sadam. It was the Iraqi people who tried him, found him guilty and executed him. Thats called justice. Thats what they do in democracies. As for the Iraqi civil war, yes its a horrible situation. And I think our troops have done their jobs and now must let the Iraqi people fight for their own freedom. But remember that our country had to go through a civil war before we could become a true democracy. Now lets hear more about your family and LEL!
I read that Saddam was hanged because of something like 184 deaths. That was the 'charge'. And I thought about how many people have died since we have had troops over there. US as well as Iraqi lives have been lost. Will GW be held accountable?
I read comments from a soldier that were something like, "this [Saddams death] won't get us out of here. First it was weapons of mass destruction, and when there were none we were told to look for Saddam. Now it will be something else just to keep us over here." I shouldn't quote because that's not exactly what he said, just from memory that's the gist.
Anon - Baghdad Burning is actually a well-known blog by an Iraqi woman. She recently published a book from it, and it is in fact an accurate account of what is going on.

I guess Saddam's not going to hang around to see how it comes out.

Just this morning I was wondering...
