How I Know For Sure That the Heat Wave Is Ending

Not only did I get cold tonight for the first time in over a week, but the faucet is finally providing cool water. 'bout time!

Please tell me this is true as I sit in my 80 degree bedroom praying for it to cool down enough outside that my house will cool down too.

The fog creeping in on little cat's feet also brought us ...

wait for it

A CAT! a cute female 8-10 wk old siamese, showed up at our door last night. No ID chip, very affectionate, no neighbors are missing a kitten, so she looks like she's ours! Our 19 yr old cat is NOT amused.

Ideas for names anyone?

(Is this an omen? the word verification sounds out to Hawk Paid Expert. Anyone else try to make sense of these things?)

Steve,

Not so very creative, but...Misty?

I sometimes spend a minute seeing if the word verification is trying to tell me something, but alas, it's usually gibberish - or at least no language I can understand.

Actually Misty is the only thing we've come up with that hasn't been immediately rejected. Possibly appropriate given the fog reference.

My wife, looking over my shoulder just said "What about Yogurt?"

I once knew a horse named Yogurt. Sure, there's room in the world for a cat named Yogurt.

Hi Mrs. Steve! :)

Oh, that's cooler than Misty. I switch my vote to Yogurt.

Thanks all, everyone kept telling us the kitten would let us know her name. I had a great idea of calling her siamese cat in Thai, but that turns out to be "meow thai".

The winner is

Lily

Nobody loses, we're all winners for participating, proud to be part of this great endeavor. Losers please exit thru the door on the right.

I'm glad Steve didn't name her Meow Thai. That sounds like a dish you'd find on a menu in Bangkok :) :) :)

Just so you know when the next Siamese cat finds its way to you, the Thai name for Siamese cat is wichien-maat (วิเชียรมาศ) meaning Moon Diamond or Diamond Gold depending on who I ask.
